I had been given a dental prescription for antibiotics after attending an emergency dental appointment With my dentist. I called this pharmacy to check that they had the drug in stock and was told that the cost for the dental prescription was around £7.60 which was the same as I was charged by my normal pharmacy a few weeks ago. I attended the pharmacy and got my prescription as well as some parasol pain killers, and was charged over £21 for these two items. Because I was in pain I did not question this cost at the time, but later in the evening I called the pharmacy and spoke to the pharmacist. It turned out that I had been charged £15 for he prescription instead of the £7.60 I had been quoted on the phone. When I challenged the pharmacist on this he was totally dismissive and said that he could charge what he likes for this service, when I said that I would return the prescription and get it dispensed from my normal pharmacy he refused to allow this ! I am most annoyed by this blatantly sharp practice, and the attitude of the pharmacist !!
