On the day that I was released from hospital after a quadruple heart bypass I went in here to buy a blood pressure monitor. I’d previously used this pharmacy and found the staff friendly and efficient. This was my first experience of dealing with one member of staff. When I wanted to pay by card I was told that it was cash only and I should walk to Tesco’s to withdraw cash for which he would give me a ‘good price’. When I explained that I did not want to walk that far in my condition my wife was told to go instead. When I asked for a receipt he pointed to the price tag sticker and said that that would act as receipt. A request for 75mg non- dispersive aspirin was answered with ‘there’s no such thing’ even though Boots sell them. The other staff there seem to know what they are doing but even they seemed to be bullied by this man and this character needs to be avoided - at least until HMRC have had a look. I am afraid my experience at this pharmacy (and that of my private medical staff) was very stressful at an already stressful time. (a) random pricing. I was asked to pay 3x on one day what I had paid for the same medication the day before. Of course I refused. NB: not private patient from choice, just not available on NHS.
(b) my doctor asked (because I live alone and for safety) that the medication be dispensed over 3 days. I made the bus journey (only run every 2 hours) and each time there was a problem, despite my doctor assuring me of the instructions they had given. I was constantly told to come back - in fact they still owe me medication but I cannot face any more stress and will go without.
(c) Maybe a white coat rather than a woolly hat with a pom pom would engender more confidence?
(d) This has the potential to be a friendly family pharmacy but you can't treat patients like this! Original Comment Report... |
