I used the Lloyds Chemist when it was in Elmbridge Road, it 's service was brilliant. I went with my GP's to the Aspen Centre and the Lloyds staff there were equally as helpful. They did get a few prescriptions wrong at first but this was acceptable as they were in the process of getting sorted in the new building. Since this has changed to AlChem it has been a shambles, I have given them 2 weeks notice of my repeat prescriptions and reminded them that one of my drugs is by prescription only and they would need to collect this from the reception next door. I telephoned them on the Saturday and told them I would collect on the Monday afternoon and as usual nothing was ready and the prescription had not been collected again. After collecting the prescription myself I eventually got my medication after a 40 minute wait. What's gone wrong? This never used to happen before!

I am very pleased with the staff at Alchem Pharmacy. They have tried repeatedly to sort out my repeat prescriptions with the surgery next door and the comments made by others reflect the frustration of patients who have the same issue. Namely, the surgery do not follow through on many requests made by either the patient or the pharmacy on the patients behalf. The pharmacy are trying to work with the surgery to make the patient journey better but its not the pharmacies fault that medication is often not ready. I hope this helps others to see the pressure the pharmacy is under.

I visit regularly to collect an elderly relatives repeat prescription. Without fail it is never ready even though it has been ordered on-line 5-6 working days prior to visiting. Today was fairly typical taking 40 minutes for one set of tablets to be dispensed. The organisation is very poor and 8 other people came in after me and received their repeat prescription before I did. I eventually asked about my mothers prescription and after several minutes wandering around someone appeared with two packages. I was asked whether I had left the building as the assistant said that the pharmacist had called my mothers name. I am sorry but I cannot believe this as I was stood by the counter for the whole time. I asked why there were two packages and was told that the previous prescription had not been collected by my mother. I pointed out that I had collected this and my mother would had run out of medication if it had not been collected. This pharmacy used to be very good and very convenient but since Alchem took over it is very poorly organised. Repeat prescriptions are never ready and there seems little sense of urgency - today whilst I was waiting there were 5 people behind the counter laughing and joking. I have now decided that I will not continue to use them due to their inefficiency.
