I'd had sore throat, intermittent fever and some congestion for a week. When I also developed an earache, I called NHS 111. After assessment, they told me ear infections generally clear up on their own, but that I should see the NHS pharmacist nearest me (Peak Pharmacy). The NHS 111 assessor said to tell them that I already had my NHS 111 assessment and they would suggest ways to ease my pain (in addition to what the NHS 111 already told me). Well, I walked in, told them what my problem was and told them what NHS 111 said. They told me we can't give you anything to put in your ears. I said I didn't want anything to put in my ears. I explained in more detail what NHS 111 told me to do. Again, the pharmacist looked at me like I was off my rocker. They said what I was already thinking, You should see a GP. It might be an infection and you might need antibiotics. Totally useless visit, but maybe more the fault of NHS 111 than the pharmacy, Original Comment Report... |
