Medicare was established in 1987 by Managing Director Afzal Khan and his brother, Director Asghar Khan - both qualified pharmacists.
From the outset their aim was to provide a local pharmacy service delivering healthcare to the community, ensuring that all their customers needs were met.
The family-run business now has seven chemists, located in the Huddersfield area - Bradley, Salendine, Marsh, Lockwood, Honley and two in Holmfirth - Elmwood Health Centre and Riverside, and employ over 30 staff.
