After recently moving to the area and finding it problematic to register with the local GP, I finally was able to arrange my repeat prescriptions and have them sent to this pharmacy electronically for myself and my daughter. Last month I asked if I could collect 2 months supply as I work away and have experienced problems in the past accessing my medication over Christmas. I was told to come again today 23rd Dec and they would issue it then. I called in today after not having medication for 3 days to collect. My daughters prescription was there and mine was not, although I had been assured it was all fine and u would be able to collect it by the pharmacist I saw the month previous. Today the pharmacist was rude, accusatory and argumentative. I was asked more than once why I'd left it so long to be without medication and my explanation was ignored. I was told I should not let things get to this stage and should see my doctor to get a prescription now. I was also told that even though I work away I can get my prescription from anywhere in the country?! If this is the case why could I not have it today from my usual pharmacy?? The pharmacist wished to prolong his argument even after I had asked 3 times if he could just give me an emergency prescription... which he ignored for a period of time to continue questioning me about why I had left it so long (answer had already been given). Eventually he agreed to give me 5 days supply but refused to give me my correct dose and told me to cut up the medication to make the right dose, even though this mentioned then I wouldn't have a 5 day supply after doing this. I left the counter in tears which is highly unusual behaviour for me. I've never been treated in the way he treated me, and this was witnessed by others at the counter. I fully expect that this was his error and my prescription will have been there in some form as my daughters was available which was set up at the same time. I'd explained the medication was not a supportive medication but a necessary one, hence my exemption card. I now face a Christmas having to sort out medication errors and being caught between my GP and the pharmacy who will argue about who has made this mistake. However for a pharmacist to treat an individual who requires their medication in this way knowing that the Christmas period brings problems in accessing the necessary stakeholders is shocking and extremely upsetting but more to the point, if this happens to someone elderly or more vulnerable than myself it could have serious consequences. I will no longer use this pharmacy and will make a formal complaint to NHSE about this pharmacist.

I visit the Worksop Tesco pharmacy for my own prescriptions and the one particular member of staff there is amazing. They always remember everyone, what your problems and needs are. They knew one particular brand of medication suited me more and so always made sure they kept this brand by for me. They are pleasant, friendly and helpful. They made sure all my prescriptions came at the same time to ensure I didn't have to keep trekking backwards and forwards. I have seen them speak to other customers, always in a respectful but friendly way. They have such a great manner. Recently I had a problem with the doctors sending a prescription for my father to a different pharmacy in error. They rang up, sorted it all out, and even knew my Dad and his problems without me telling them once he had a name. I can't recommend this person enough. I only wish they were on there 24/7, a treasure!
