I had a private eprescription which i telephoned the pharmacy about before collecting, to ensure that there were not going to be any issues when i arrived. I rang up to let them know i had an eprescription. The woman who answered seemed to be really junior and not competent in her role. Her communication was very poor and she seemed to be dismissive of anything that i said. She asked me which private medical company i was with and i told her. Then, without even waiting for me to finish my sentence, she proceeded to tell me that they are not affiliated with that particular company. I challenged this and asked to speak to her senior, who was on standby, and she said that she would put me through to the pharmacist. I assumed that she was one as she didn’t introduce herself. The pharmacist didn’t see any problem with administering my medication. I work as a doctor but wasn’t expecting any preferential treatment as a patient. However, if a layperson were to ring this pharmacy i think they could be prevented from receiving the medication which they might desperately need just due to the incompetence of staff answering the telephones.
