After being a customer of this pharmacy for many years (because it is closest to me) I have decided never to set foot in here again and make the extra effort to go elsewhere. I picked up an item that retails for £1.49 and proceeded to pay by card (which I have done many times for items less than that) where I was told by the annoyed assistant I'd need to buy something extra because there's 'now' a £3 minimum. Clearly, in a jobsworth sort of mood and simply wanted to be a pain, they couldn't even tell me when there'd been a change of policy. I had bought a tube of Brulidine two days ago on a debit card for £2. Needless to say that I left the bandage on the counter and walked out. On principle. The last Labour government protected these smaller outlets from the supermarkets because they reasoned patients would be better served. They were wrong. In addition to poor customer service, the items on sale are extortionately more expensive than Boots or your local supermarket. It's time they were opened up to competition because they really need a kick up the bum.
