I was told by a lady assistant that they were not ALLOWED to take cash, i pointed out that there is no law forbidding the use of cash and that it was what they chose to do and not what they HAD to do. I have no problem if they believe covid 19 is passed via bank notes, but it's no more than it would be by entering your card pin number after an infected person had entered theirs (never thought about that did you) But 10 out of 10 for caring. But to believe it's against the law to use cash, that's something different. Not sure I'd trust them to make up a prescription for me with that lack of common sense. I went to another Basildon chemist who were more than happy to take my cash. I serve the public and I am one of the businesses allowed to trade during the lockdown, I take cash. I bet if the lady in question stumbled upon a sack full of £20 notes she'd suddenly take cash!!! No hard feelings if it's what you believe. Stay safe... Lee
