Very disappointed that they chose to charge £6 for 6 digitalis tablets because the repeat prescription from the doctors failed to materialise in time. This caused my 83 year old husband with heart failure unnecessary distress. He is well known to this pharmacy as they have been making up his prescriptions for many years. (NB He tried to collect on a Saturday morning of a Bank Holiday weekend. The prescription should have been ready the day before.) P.S. We have generally found the shop staff helpful.

We empathise with your situation however as your husband's prescription had not been received from his doctors surgery (and the surgery was closed), and as there is currently no NHS locally commissioned service in Warwickshire for Community Pharmacies to provide emergency repeat medications out of hours, I am afraid the only legal option available to the Pharmacist was to provide your husband with a ‘private' ‘ Emergency Supply’ of his tablets in line with the Human Medicines Regulations 2012, and that does incur a small charge.
