My grandad has severe memory issues so it results in his family having to call the chemist regarding his medication. It gets delivered but sometimes it’s a few days late and sometimes my grandad forgets it has been delivered due to his memory issues so we have to call the chemist to get it confirmed. I called them today and at the sound of my grandads name the woman huffed and sighed and had a go at me because the family call the chemist often to check his medication. My grandad is really vulnerable and things are very hard at the moment and calling the chemist today has given me so much more anxiety and stress: I don’t understand why they would work in a chemist if they can’t be bothered dealing with vulnerable people. I even called back to apologise and they wouldn’t let me speak and was just having a go. I wouldn’t recommend this chemist at all they actually asked me can my grandad go to another chemist because they can’t be bothered with the stress. Everyone I know who has had dealings with the chemist always comment on how rude the staff are and I just find it ridiculous. Why work with vulnerable people if you can not be bothered! I tried to tell them that they need more training when it comes to vulnerable people and all they could say was “don’t tell me how to do my job” it scares me that people with that attitude are allowed to work in healthcare settings.
