I’ve been using this pharmacy for the last few months, as it is very close to my gp. I’ve been very impressed by the quality of service provided by the unfailingly kind and helpful pharmacist. His shop is jampacked with all sorts of useful items, medical and otherwise, a real boon to the community. I highly recommend the pharmacy.

I have used the Barton pharmacy for some 10 years now as I live within walking distance and would be lost without it. Not only is the service professional, courteous and friendly, what is particularly invaluable is the kindness and personal care with which the pharmacist treats every customer. He always has time to listen with genuine empathy and give free advice. Being widowed and living on my own, I take the liberty of popping in sometimes when I worried about a health issue and I can always be sure of leaving the pharmacy reassured and calm - good advice is freely and courteously given. I was particularly touched one day when the pharmacist phoned me after hours to remind me that I hadn’t picked up my prescription - he had remembered that I was running out of my medication from an earlier conversation we had had and a long week-end was looming. When I turned up, he said: “I was about to lock up and was thinking about my mother and her medication, that reminded me that you hadn’t collected yours”. The fact that he made this connection showed amazing thoughtfulness and humanity. I trust my pharmacist’s opinion and advice as much as I do my GP’s and am so grateful to have him round the corner. We are very lucky here to have Barton Pharmacy - wish there were more of them about! Thank you for your sterling service to the community. PS and the shop sells lots of very useful items - I have even bought fun Xmas mugs for my grandchildren!
