Prescriptions seem to take a long time to be ready, we have been wrongly charged for 2 prescriptions when it was one prescription that comes in 2 different measurements because it isn’t available in measurement prescribed as single item. (This has happened twice) do not take part in scheme that allows children to get common medications without need for doctor visit first (shelf provide this service) opening times seem convenient for staff not needs of village - if your prescription is finally ready on a Friday but you can’t get there in time you will have to wait til Monday even for essential time specific medications. Staff friendly enough but structure, systems and opening times are very poor and do not meet needs of community.

My elderly and very unwell neighbour asked me to drop off a sample to the doctors for him as it had to be sent off to the hospital by 12 noon. When I arrived the surgery door was locked, the bell was broken and despite knocking several times no one heard me. I went into the pharmacy next door to the surgery and asked if they would do me a huge favour and ring the surgery to let them know I was outside. The man serving flatly refused. I explained I hadn't brought my mobile and that I was dropping a sample for my neighbour but again he just said 'no. Then another member of staff said it takes us too long to ring, it will take us about 10 minutes. I acknowledge that it wasn't their fault ore responsibility that the surgery door was locked but would it really have been so much trouble as to ring the surgery on my behalf? Clearly customer service and helping those in the community they serve are not important to Northowram pharmacy staff. Very disappointed in their lack of care or helpfulness!

Very disappointed to be refused delivery service to a vulnerable 76year old who is following government & medical advice to stay home & self isolate. He was told medichem will not deliver to any patients not already on the delivery list. He has always collected his meds from this pharmacy & is upset that this one time he requested delivery they refused to deliver even though he gave more than 2days notice & was willing to wait until they could deliver. He has changed pharmacy & Shelf pharmacy has reassured him he is now on their delivery list.
