The staff at Whitworth pharmacy on Common edge road Blackpool are excellent. My mom was recently ill and taken into hospital and on her release she was given various New medication in boxes they explained what the new medication was for and liased with the local doctors to get me more medication when it was needed. The staff are very efficient and they sorted out her blister packs with very short notice. They are very knowledgeable and very helpful especially me being a diabetic as it's difficult to find the right medication when I'm unwell. All the stall at Whitworths pharmacy on Common edge road are very friendly and they can not do enough to help there customers. They always go above and beyond their normal duties nothing is too much trouble. I have used this pharmacy every month for the past five years. In that time the staff have always been polite and friendly. I have a repeat prescription but I am also on Warfarin, an Anti-coagulation drug that thins my blood which I have to request separately for safety reasons, which I totally agree with and understand. Sometimes my prescription has not been sent over by the doctors, most times this is because of an emergency case they have been dealing with. All of the staff, pharmacists and assistants; have done their job with efficiency and politeness. Manners cost nothing but they do go far. I just want to say a big thank you and we'll done to everyone who works at Whitworth'so you are a superb team, you deal with sometimes very trying circumstances and you do it with a smile. You are amazing! Original Comment Report... I have just been in this chemist after taking my father for an emergency appointment at Moore Street Surgery. My father is very ill and has developed a severe chest infection over the last few days. Despite this he refused to go to hospital, hence the dash to the GPs surgery. On the way there he almost collapsed. He saw the doctor who gave him a prescription for antibiotics. I went into the nearest chemist, Whitworth's, to have his prescription filled out. My father assured me he could make his way to the car but while waiting in the chemist I could see him struggling to get the car door open. I shouted to him Are you ok? Which was witnessed by the staff. The shop staff seemed to be in a state of confusion over some returned medicine and a missing prescription. After waiting ten minutes to hand my prescription in, the gentleman whose prescription was lost, turned to me and said Here you go love, you go next. I went to hand the script to the assistant standing in front of me but they refused to take it, stating Do you mind I'm serving this gentleman! A few minutes later the member of staff returned to take the scripts. At first they stretched out their hand then changed their mind and proffered a basket, indicating I should drop the script in. The member of staff clearly thought I was dirty or at least wanted to imply that. I am a primary school teacher and would never dream of being so rude to a child, a parent, indeed anyone. Do yourself a favour and cross over to the other side of Knowsley road, nice pharmacist, rude assistant. Original Com ..
