Recently my husband suffered severe back and leg pain after lifting a concrete birdbath so much so that he went to hospital by ambulance, where he was given strong painkillers and sent home. After a couple of days the painkillers were found not to be strong enough so a doctor was called who prescribed even stronger painkillers after assuring my husband that it was severe muscle spasms caused through the lifting. The prescription he left him was impossible for me to get (and didn’t realize this till after the doctor had gone). We have a very small and lively dog who would have caused him even more problems if I had left him alone with her, so I decided to ring my local pharmacy, where I get all my prescriptions, Vision Pharmacy, to see if they could help. Well help they did, they talked me through what to do with the prescription, I.e., send it by email, then they would dispense it and deliver it the same day and pick up the original prescription at the same time. Brilliant!!!! A few days later I rang the doctors again because he wanted to know how my husband was getting on. He then prescribed painkilling patches, the prescription was at the surgery. I rang Vision Pharmacy yet again, explained my predicament and again they picked up his prescription from the surgery, dispensed it and delivered it all within a few hours. I can’t believe how above and beyond Vision Pharmacy have gone. Thank you so much to all the staff for their caring attitude. I wish all pharmacies were like Vision Pharmacy. AAAAA

Not for the first time, this pharmacy has not had my prescription. I visited with a new prescription for three different items two days ago and was told that they had one item, and part of another. The third item that must be taken alongside the first was not in stock. I was told I would be contacted when my prescription was available. Having not heard from them for over twenty four hours I phoned yesterday to be told that (after waiting over five minutes) it was still not in stock but should be by midday today. I was assured that I would be contacted. After having heard nothing by 2pm today I visited the pharmacy and was coolly dismissed with phrases such as "we are doing our best", "we have contacted different suppliers", "we will call you" and "you cannot have your prescription back to go else where as you have received one item from it". No apology for not ringing suppliers sooner, no apology for not contacting manufacturers to see if there was an issue, no apology for not contacting me. I explained that I was very frustrated, and finally they offered to speak to the surgery to get a new prescription. However, after doing my own research (involving speaking to the very helpful Manor Pharmacy), I find that this will be useless as there is indeed a manufacturer problem, meaning I will not be able to get this particular prescription. The chemist could have phoned them herself and then let me know so that I could request a different prescription. I am really struggling and some help and compassion would have been greatly appreciated. Instead I feel fobbed off by the lackadaisical attitude of the staff at My Local Chemist West Bridgford.
