Called when I found out I was pregnant, excited as you would be, the lady who answered the phone on the first day was extremely rude and basically said they aren’t interested until you are 8 weeks pregnant. Called back a second time that week as being a first time mum wanted some advice. The lady who answered this time was helpful and put me through to a nurse for advice which was really good. Nurse said to call back the following week so I can get booked in when I am 8 weeks. Called back the following week, again.. couldn’t book me in for my appointment as they have an issue with the bookings system, “call back next we’ll” assured me there would be no issue with getting booked in for that week.. well. Called back today (11-06-2019) and got told can’t book you in now until 26th. Told the lady on the phone I was assured it would be for next week and I’d have no issues to be told sorry but that’s all we have. So much for an 8 week appointment. Shocking service- people need to listen to the patient and not promise things they can’t deliver!! Or just booked me in the first time I called!!!! | |||||||

I’ve used this surgery for over 40 years and feel so lucky to be registered with them. Doctors are excellent, always taking time to listen properly. You always feel as if you are involved in decisions about your treatment. There are so many horror stories from other areas of the county, it’s a blessing to be here. | |||||||

Attempted to make an appointment this morning for my husband with or GP!
GP not working today, the next day they are is tomorrow.
OK can I make an appointment for tomorrow please "No you cant" you will have to phone back at 8 am.
Its not an emergency appointment I am looking for, you cant make appointments in advance to see your GP.
What is the point of having one now then?
My husband has several complex serious health issues, he is not very mobile so making appointments in advance is critical! it ensures there is someone available to assist him , getting up, dressed and to the surgery for the appointment.
The object of having a GP is , in cases like my husband they know you, they have seen yo in very many different conditions an instantly will know on sight what your condition is.
Any other doctor can read your on-line notes! but that does not tell them the whole picture.
The whole point of being registered with a GP is yo have a doctor who knows you an yo health issues.
So basically we are not registered at a surgery and not with a specific GP. Progress! I think not,
Suitable for all patients no, is not being able to make an appointment in advance acceptable NO.
He sees his consultant very soon and may well have to maker an appointment with his "alleged" GP to discuss moving forward.
Clearly that is not going to happen as he cant make an appointment in advance!
