Having lived in Spixworth for years I have probably met all the doctors in this surgery, and while a couple may be good, on the whole the way I've been treated has been poor. The last six months have shone a spotlight on it. I've been suffering with a lengthy and debilitating illness that is yet to receive a real diagnosis, just the suggestion that it is PVFS. In this period I have had to come back each month to be told to go away again, with no help, no investigation, and no advice. Initially I saw one doctor who is good, it is just impossible to see them as they are always away, so I was forced to change to see another doctor - after which all investigation stopped. Rather than helping me, I have left their office with dozens of unanswered questions and symptoms that have not been investigated. Upon asking advice in general on the condition, or in managing certain symptoms I have been ignored or dismissed. After being told to keep a symptom diary to track the symptoms, and then using it to explain certain symptoms and possible patterns, I was told I was very focussed on my illness and given anti-anxiety medication, despite it being the doctor's idea to start it. Over the period I have gone from having headaches and chronic migraine symptoms, to having head, chest, and stomach symptoms as well as muscle issues. Bluntly, I've gotten worse with no attempt from my doctors to help manage or to allay the onset of the illness. Furthermore, it's not been explained to me what is not wrong, or what tests were for or have shown. When I pointedly asked whether they'd really ruled out things like cancer, I was again ignored. I'm sure if you have something quantifiable then you'll be fine, but with anything that doesn't fit into a neat box or can be resolved quickly, then the doctors will soon lose interest in you and rush you out the door each appointment, waiting to palm you off onto someone else. For me, this means I've been left to grow slowly worse with not so much as a shred of sympathy from people who are there to help us.
