Extremely disappointed in how this surgery has gone downhill in the last few years. Yes there has been a lot of changes in the last few years with doctors leaving and management changing but why should this effect patient care?! If anything I would expect improvement. There is only one receptionist on at a time, who is expected to take calls for appointments for the morning on her own and deal with everything else, I’m not surprised they look like they’re going to have a meltdown and are so rude. First point of access is reception so if they are struggling to do their job properly it’s because they are not supported enough. Reception should be a priority! Seems to me like all the resources are being pulled to Shiregreen medical centre. The majority of Melrose patients are from ethnic backgrounds maybe that’s why they’ve been abandoned by the practice. Can’t see why your even taking on new patients when your offering half a day service and even that’s a shambles. It’s mostly run by locums and people keep leaving which says a lot in it self. Where was the patient review after 6months for the hours you would be opening? Does anyone at all care about Melrose’s reputation and patients that the previous doctors and staff built? Or is that the idea run it to the ground so patients leave and you can close it down!!!

Worst GP I ever visited. Terrible booking system. Would not recommend. Rude & patronising receptionist. Hard to get an appointment made worse by limited opening hours. Waiting time of up to 90mins. left without pain relief or adequate support of mental health. Stress inducing experience.
