I have been at Charnock Health 1 year now I am a patient with complicated health issues having have a critical illness, many late effects from a bone marrow transplant and cancer treatment with physical mainly but occasionally mental health issues due to late effects of well-being. However due to the excellent care of the royal hallamshire & Nottingham oncologist but also my determination and positiveness I am leading a good life as possible However after been let down in 2 years pandemic shielding quote from my consultant I decided to change to a local gp. After great research on 4 gps in gleadless / Birley area I chose above practice due to Crispin great pharmacist and his team had knew me for over 10years with my complex medication prescription and it’s linked to GPS and I looked at inspection reports and community review I have lived in Charnock 25yrs but S12 36 yrs.plus been in surgery to listen to video running in reception on charnock health and spoke to 2 different receptionist. I asked Nurses -: dealing very high blood presure where extremely helpful & flu jab Reception seemed friendly and helpful by saying come in to make appointment as you couldn’t get through easily by phone at 8am In January after trying many times and standing in cold conditions to get an appointment either me with leukaemia or my husband failed or was asked still to ring after 9am for a Dr to then ring us or on two occasions I had a text to say contact GP surgery wanted me to contact a Dr but after difficultly in doing so when Gp Dr Hopkinson called me back he asked me why he was calling I couldn’t answer that question surely there’s a system he read why contacting before plus I was told Drs start at 8am originally but then reception told us Drs don’t ring until after 9am.So November inspection report where appointment systems were going to be addressed have not yet been address to work better. I understand nhs is stretched/winter months and hol year ends. Sadly I was contacted by Dr Hodginkinson in Jan 23 trying to explain a dizzy spell I had suffered and to speak about the concerns of my mental well being after counting numbers to me by the phone because my 10 minutes was coming to an end which I knew he wasn’t listen to my cry for help but he did text me mental health info that I am unable to read alone due to my condition of TBI late effects. I went on to becoming that mentally distressed I was admitted to hospital and on discharge looked after with Crisis / home team who discharge me and referred me back to charnock health.I have spoke Gp since as been very good with my physical health info with me and my husband but he still seems very vauge almost unprofessional on my mental / lack of sleep health. Telling me by loud speak phone that the criss team should be still giving me treatment when this is only a resolution short term service and it’s my local Gp service responsibility now. I did have a telephone chat where he was going to check with criss team and alter my medication he stated on the phone with pharmacy this still as not been done So I am still on half tablet dose when he said I should be on full tablet does him , myself and my carer husband agreed to. I am very surprised in this day with such focus on Mental health been as important as physical health or in my-case that they overlap to my ill health but healthily well-being as a person. The other professional services are very surprise and a Longley criss are shocked & wrote to practice. Criss team have told me to think abt.leaving this practice but I have not had dealing yet with other Drs and corresponding in confidence letters apparently go to Dr J Critchlow so Profession Snowdon & other nhs prof have advised me to ask for him. After such unprofessional help and attitude by telling me to send BP readings in by pigeon if I wished when I asked this Gp I spoke to if I sent reading in electronically lack of any understanding on mental health I feel let down.

The review on charnock health primary care centre is that since the covid 19 pandemic the reception staff are rude and play with paitents health. The continuity of care is not good as you can never get to see the same doctor when you have mental issue as pietent I find this helps but whe you have the current reception team they have their at moment they just play with people lives they won't understand the importance of paitent need to see a particular doctor or your lucky if they give you a consultation with a doctor as they seem to pick and chose weather your worth the appointment for the last three weeks I called four out of five days day each time I get to live person it sorry were fully booked this in first 30 minutes of opening. I'm carer for my disable dad so it important I deal with my health issue as soon as I can but I probably get better service from 111 or walk in centre if only I had time to get to one of these service I'm seriously considering changing doctors surgery as service is very poor and not sufficient
