I asked Dr Parry in an emotional apptmt to write to a hospital Dept and ask them to not end my care which was discriminatory as I hadn’t done anything where a surgeon can end your care. ( The GMC have rules abut this ) and it was with the whole dept when I’d only seen one (difficult) surgeon. I got my medical records from Broomhill surgery and the letter Dr Parry wrote on 31 March 2020 to my shock said ‘ essentially she wanted to know the reasons behind your decision as to why you have decided that she will not be offered any further appointments’. He hadn’t asked Mr Chapple to not end my care, just tell me why they were doing it. This wasn’t what I had asked and this wasn’t what Dr Parry had said he would do. Given it was such a critical issue to not get my care stopped what Dr Parry did is BAD. This caused further problems between me and the surgeon because I insisted Dr Parry had contacted him to not get my care stopped and Mr Chapple in a letter dated 20 Aug 2020 said ‘ lastly the NHS advocate stated the purpose for Dr Parry contacting Mr Chapple was not to seek explanations but to not get her care stopped within the whole Dept.’ I cannot speak for Dr Parry but I have had a letter from him and a telephone conversation and that was not my summary of what Dr Parry’s communication was. But the reason this is bad is I had a complication after surgery and wasn’t told what could be done for it as NHS guidelines state, I saw Dr Parry about this and he saw how upset I was. Then to be told my care was going to be stopped on top of that was really bad and again I talked to Dr Parry about it. So for Dr Parry to see all this and say he was going to help me to my face and not do it behind my back in the letter shows HE IS NOT A GOOD DR, HE DOESN’T CARE ABOUT HIS PATIENTS + YOU CAN’T TRUST HIM. Another Dr who has now left told me Dr Parry is nice but not good. I saw Dr Parry since 2016 (for 5 years) when I started the treatment pathway and how he can know all my personal details and do this is very bad. I’m also beginning to question how genuine his ‘nice’ exterior is. I’ve since read about the professional behaviours the GMC (which registers doctors) requires dr’s to follow and it says doctors must be honest and act with integrity and maintain the public’s trust in the medical profession and Dr Parry did not do this. I actually remember him telling me he’d done the letter and getting loads of thankyou’s out of, some people really have no shame! Because I got upset after the complication and asked the surgeon if he’d made a mistake he said I needed psychological treatment and stopped all treatments until I’d had that which is medical gaslighting and Dr Parry joined in on that ( pic 3). I saw Dr Parry many times after the complication to work things out pics 4,5,6, a sign of good psychological health while maintaining all households bills also a sign of good mental health but he still joined in to say I had psychological problems and this caused immense distress about when I could get help and return to work. The only people supporting patients are the newspapers and Dispatches documentaries which are reporting poor care in the NHS. So my advice is to NOT SEE Dr Parry for hospital stuff which is stressful enough but if you are seeing him, get your medical records and check exactly what he’s writing. Lisa in admin got my records and she was really good. There are better doctors at this surgery. Dr Foster review On 2nd July 2021 I asked Dr Foster to do a referral for an urgent ongoing issue, I rang up 2 weeks later to see if he’d done it and he hadn’t, I rang up on the 3rd week and he still hadn't done it or left a note. He finally did it on 2 August, a whole month later. I’ve had referrals for urgent issues done in 10 days. Given the circumstances which Dr Foster is aware of this could have been done better.

I've been with Broomhill Surgery since the beginning of the year. I'm lucky to not have to use the service frequently, but every time I have visited, I've had a great experience. Whilst waiting times for appointments can stretch to three weeks, if you need an urgent appointment, the staff are very accommodating if you ring up first thing in the morning. Reception staff are lovely and look after a very busy surgery very effectively. I've seen three different doctors at the surgery and all are incredibly conscientious and informative, and go above and beyond to make you feel at ease. The nurse who also did my cervical screening was great and made me feel comfortable through the whole process. Thanks so much for running a great surgery!

I don't know how the staff on reception do it, in such a busy surgery, but they never fail to do their best to give a warm and friendly welcome when I visit, and always go the extra mile to sort out any issues that crop up, Like another patient who's posted a comment, I have been a patient at several surgeries throughout the country, and have never been to one where the staff are unfailingly as helpful as this team.
