I have been trying for weeks to make an appointment with a particular dr to no avail! After making 91 yes 91 calls in one morning 30/9/19 when I got through eventually, I was cut off. I have a witness. I couldn't believe it. So, I thought I'll go after work and call in. I was told I couldn't' make an appointment there and then with the dr because he says you can only ring for one. WHAT!!!! She said I had to call on Wednesday so I did and guess what , could I make an appointment NO. As I wanted it in advance she said appointments only on the day. I was furious to say the least. So, i opted for a different dr could I get an appointment No. in the end( I'll be honest) I told her to shove it! An absolutely diabolical way to run a surgery. I work full time and find it extremely difficult to fit in going to the surgery as it is. I very rarely use the service thankfully. In the next section it asks when did you visit this surgery. What a joke I haven't ha ha !!

Hello Thank you for your comments. As you haven't given your name or contact details I am unable to contact you directly to try and help resolve. I have checked the system and there are appointments available for October with Doctors, Physician Associates, Nurse Practitioners, Practice Nurses and Health Care Assistants. There are also after 6.30pm week day doctor appointments and weekend doctor appointments available in the Sheffield hubs, the nearest hub to the practice is Woodhouse Surgery. If you would like to contact either myself or the receptionist patient liaison we will try to assist in resolving any outstanding issue you may have. I have used this surgery for many years and it just gets worse. The reception staff are rude and not at all helpful. After trying for 36 minutes to get through (this is after 3 o’clock) to order a repeat precipitation I was told very abruptly that they cannot do them over the phone. I am well aware of the Nhs number to call however seen as I don’t finish work until 3:30 they are closed at that time. I have no option but to call. The lady I spoke too was so rude when I told her that. She also said that in a few weeks I will have no option but to use the Nhs line as they won’t be able to do them over the phone. So shall I leave work early just to order them?????? Again the rudeness of the receptionist said if not I will have to come in to the surgery and order them. Can you please explain to me what the difference is of ordering via a receptionist over the phone and coming in to the surgery and ordering via receptionist??? I do not take my medication because I choose too. I have no option. Service like this will just make people think it’s not worth the hassle and the argument to get the medication they need so won’t bother.

Good Morning I'm sorry if your experience of the surgery was not a good one, I will try to resolve any issues you may have. We ask that repeat prescriptions are ordered with the Sheffield Prescription Order Line. The Prescription Order Line (POL) works in partnership with 14 GP practices across Sheffield and offers a central telephone line for patients to order their repeat prescriptions over the phone. Trained healthcare staff answer your call, discuss your needs and medications with you. This means you will only order the medication that you need when you need it; giving you more control over your health care needs. The service aims to reduce the amount of unwanted medicines being dispensed and also to improve patients outcomes across Sheffield. Opening hours are Monday – Friday 09.00hrs – 15.00hrs (not open at weekends or bank holidays). We also offer the facility to order repeat medications online using the NHS APP or by registering for online services with the surgery. This maybe a good option to fit with your working hours. Reception staff can't wait to get you off the phone stating that they are not allowed to book in advance, yet I work in the Public Sector and must give notice! Reception staff are very good at informing you, what they cannot do! You are there to help not hinder! Do not give the Public Sector a bad reputation. Poor policies on booking even a phone consultation that ultimately save the doctors' time. The days when 'the doctors' practice knows best' are gone. You are a public service, kindly behave like one. I have paid enough taxes over the years. I do hope this is picked up at your next inspection by the Care Quality Commission.
