Most of the staff in this clinic are unfriendly, impolite, arrogant and condescending. I have never really gotten any help other than the feeling that I'm hypochondriac and that they can't do anything anyways. Making appointments is a nightmare, any other help is always questioned first and then usually forgotten (but never their fault)… I have never been in any health clinic that was as bad as this one.

Absolutely fuming at the experience my daughter, a student at Sheffield has had at Sheffield Hallum GP service this week. She initially saw the nurse however, this was fine and rightly was referred to the GP. Abdo pain and abnormal PV bleeding. The GP tested for STD and pregnancy and as these were negative, she then refused to continue with tests and informed my daughter that she had IBS,.... Utterly inappropriate. It was as if all she wanted was for her to fit into the category of being a young girl and promiscuous and as she wasn't she was obviously very anxious and suffering from IBS. i am livid. No further tests or investigations despite symptoms worsening and actually was. told to take peppermint oil. -+++++++++++++++++++++My daughter rang me in floods of tears, in terrible pain still and yes, now anxious. I am bringing her home immediately to see our family GP as the university one is obviously not fit for purpose.

Personally, I have never had any problems. I could book an appointment as quickly as possible. The reception team would always recognise my personal needs e.g. lecture times and other responsibilities to give me an appointment, which suits me (you can also book your appointments online in advance if you wish). They always answer my calls (my previous home GP never did) so I don't have to make a trip to the GP to book my appointment. As a second year student I'm happy that I have moved to this GP as I think they really recognise students' needs/struggles e.g. stress, work load and mental health problems associated with it. They have a strong connection with a mental health wellbeing department, which in fact is in the same building ( wellbeing reception few steps away from a GP reception). Overall, it's a very professional GP doing the best they can with current NHS pressures and the staff I came across are really friendly.
