Having moved from another local practice, I have found the service provided here outstanding.Reception staff accommodating, efficient and organised.Everything is texted so that you know what’s ahead. No waiting time at all. One particular GP spent a good 20 minutes with me andis an amazing and empathic GP.Thank you . |

I am working Mum to 3 young children, normally fit and well but was struck down with multiple lung clots that affected my heart function and made me quite ill for a few weeks. I was discharged from Rotherham Hospital after a 3 night stay with Respiratory follow up due 6 weeks later (as written on my discharge letter). This was to check up on me and repeat the heart scan. I had an horrendous delay for that appointment. I felt completely lost and abandoned, I was at home, still experiencing breathlessness and palpitations during those 6 weeks. However it soon became apparent there was no sign of an appointment coming through. So despite numerous phone calls to the hospital to chase up the appointment I actually had a 22 week wait in the end (not 6!) . So I sought help from my GPs at Broom Lane, I must say the lady on reception at first point of contact was so understanding and helpful in getting me an appointment, it wasn't for that very day but I didn't mind. Before this experience I had never really used the GPs much apart from taking my children (brilliant service for children at Broom Lane I have always got them in to see the doctors when essential). Anyway what I want to say is, most recently, the GP I thank today, was such a welcome support for me at this time. I had gone back to work, thinking I was supposed to be okay (after having 6 weeks off) especially thinking that the Hospital must think this seen as they were in no rush to review me again. I saw GP at Broom Lane and he gave it to me straight and confirmed I was right to feel like I was, I had suffered quite a life threatening event and took it upon himself to refer me for the repeat heart scan himself. He insisted I did need a few weeks more to recover and was very direct in telling me to have off work again. So basically he did the the Hospitals job for them due to their horrendous delay in appointing me. He was straight to the point, direct and pretty forward in saying I needed to slow down and allow time to heal. He gave me the reassurance that he was there for me in the interim period until the hospital finally picked me up. Broom Lane Doctors have been brilliant during my time of need, the appointment booking, the medication ordering, everything. Doctors should not be slated for giving it straight to patients, there are a lot of people who do waste time. But even so, amazingly under all of the pressure and the amount of patients they see, in my experience the team at Broom Lane have always been accommodating and efficient. A sincere thank you Dr from me and all of my family, the support and reassurance you gave did me (and my family!) a world of good. You know who you are - Decent, kind, reliable, amazing, caring, reliable and empowering many many thanks!! |

Required an appointment to see a Dr but receptionist only offered to give an appointment in two weeks time. Ended up having to contact 111 (very helpful) and had to go to A&E. |
