This has to be the most disorganised and unfriendly GP practice in the UK! Reception staff are rude, you are lucky to get eye contact or even 2 words from them! They try their very hardest to avoid you seeing the doctor instead you are asked what your problem is (by a receptionist!) and then you are usually told "the advanced nurse practioner can do that". On more than one occasion I have been told that I cannot make any appointments in advance but when you ring on the day there is never any left! I've been a patient here for 6 months and in that time I have seen the advanced nurse more than I have seen the actual doctor and they usually just give you snippets of advice or say " you need to see a doctor for that" Awful awful awful! Would not recommend this surgery to anyone!

This practice needs to take a serious look at how they currently operate. You rarely get to see a doctor instead you are given an appointment with a most unfriendly, unsympathetic and downright rude practice nurse. They will not listen to how you feel, and just palm you off with the most unrealistic excuses to avoid helping you in any way shape or form. If i were the Practice Manager, I would take a long hard look at the practice and take drastic steps to ensure that the reception staff have training in how to be polite and offer good customer service as it is clear that they dont seem to have any people skills and also address these other complaints and act on them. No matter how the staff percieve you symptoms or illness they do not have the right to speak to people the that they do. I bet none of these reviews are being seriously addressed to ensure that these issues stop arising. Whatever happened to politeness and good customer skills, they are clearly not demonstrated at Derwent Valley Medical Practice
