After hours of trying to get through on the phone I went to the surgery. It was at once obvious that I had committed a dreadful sin. I was ignored until it was clear that I was not leaving. Although I was polite I was spoken to in a rude and aggressive manner. The receptionist told me that I was not getting an appointment unless I rang for one. So how does that happen when they don't answer the phone or when it is permanently engaged? The people who use this practice (or who are trying to use it) are ill or in pain. This does not seem to register with some of their staff, to put it mildly. This practice seems to be run for the benefit of the people who work there - not the patients. The only other thing they could do to keep people out would be to put barbed wire up.

Over the years the doctors nurses and staff have looked after my health in a very caring and professional manner even through the very difficult times caused by the covid pandemic they have carried on providing the best care that government guidelines will Allow . I feel very lucky to live in a village where we have a surgery who always give the highest level of care.

I’ve had to ring the doctors a few times recently and every time I’ve spoken to the receptionist staff they have been helpful and accommodating. One particular time a member of the reception team found me a telephone appointment meant I was able to stay in work. They did not make me feel a nuisance or cheeky for wanting to get an appointment out of my working hours. I was extremely grateful and she they person was so helpful and polite. Each time I have seen a GP or nurse I have felt listened to and they always act in a professional manner. Everyone is so quick to moan about GPS and their receptionists but my experience with this practice has been exemplary.
