Very Poor GP practice. The practice manager is clearly putting budgets and NHS edicts before patient care. If you have serious problems with the care provide the Practice Manger (BUSINESS MANAGER) will put financial and reputational loss before service user care. This surgery was RESPONSIBLE for the death of my mother due to a total lack of PROFESSIONAL CARE. She had severe breathing difficulties and despite an Xray showing a large shadow (pulmonary embolism) she was never seen in face to face. The doctor diagnosed a chest infection in an over the phone consultation. The most basic principle of medical diagnostics for chest issues is to listen to the chest and OBSERVER the patient. What was already a difficult time was exasperated by the fact the practice manager hid behind patient confidentially when I challenged them on my mother care. It was VERY clear throughout our meeting that she would be putting any potential legal, financial or reputational damage of the practice before the feelings of relatives. DISCUSTING BEHAVIOUR. I unfortunately still use the practice and its clear that covid pandemic has been used to carry on with the dangerous (cost saving) practice of telephone consultations. I hope what ever the practise managers remuneration is, it is enough to ease any conscience they may or may not have.

I filled an nhs consultation form in on line all about my mental health at the time and was contacted by a gp the next morning. As you can expect I was quite tearful whilst speaking to the gp n was desperate for help only to be told n I quote word for word as I will never forget her words to me. Go away get all your emotions out take a bath or shower and I will call you back at 1.30 when you have calmed down. I have never been made to feel so upset in all my life. I rang the docs back and spoke to the receptionist who I informed I didn't want this particular doctor to call me back as I had no trust there now, I asked if I could spk to a different doctor only to be informed no I couldn't as she was the only doctor on call. Again made to feel like I didn't matter. So I told the receptionist I didn't want that doc to call me back at all then. Then at 3.45 not 1.30 like I was told the doctor rang me back. I then went on to self-harming my self due to the lack of compassion and duty of care by the doctors. I spoke to a doc the next day and requested the send a referral back to my mental health team ( I requested it the docs didn't refer me ) I am still waiting to hear from the mental health team and not one single doctor has called me to follow up on how I am and if I had heard anything from the mental health team yet. I feel so upset and abandoned by people you should be able to trust not just discarded like I'm nothing.if I didn't have support by my family to turn to that day It may have ended up a total different outcome. The doctors are aware of my past and how I struggle but absolutely no compassion at all.

I contacted the surgery earlier this week to see if I could see a doctor about an abscess that I had in my moth. But was informed that the doctors do not deal with dental problems to which I understand. All I wanted was Antibiotics to help me while I found a dentist. I did eventually find a dentist with the help of the 111 service. But by that time all my face was swollen so he gave me antibiotics and now it is clearing up. But the dentist told me I could have got these tablets from my doctor because I couldn't find a dentist. And that the reception staff should not have refused me contact with the doctor. At the end of the day a prescription from the doctor could have prevented me with three days of hell.

Dear Patient I am sorry you have had pain with a dental abscess and I am pleased you have now had this sorted. I am afraid that GP's do not see any dental problems at all and the reception staff were correct in signposting to the most appropriate person. This is because the GP's are not expert in dental problems and a prescribing an incorrect antibiotic may cause a delay in your recovery. 111 do provide the names and numbers of emergency dental services were patients can access immediate dental assistance and I am unsure why this took 3 days and recognise this must of been very difficult for you. However I must reiterate that GP's do not see dental problems of any sort to ensure that the patient receives the most appropriate and effective treatment. Please do not hesitate to contact me if you wish to discuss this further. Ann Southern Practice Manager
