Only reason people use this surgery is due to lack of any others. The Reception staff are the only reason it's still open. All the GPs have to have everything overseen by DR Myers adding to his workload. However he employs them but seems no trust in what they do, so why have them if not able to act without overseeing & still have to wait for Dr Myers unusual indeed. Just a few basic shortfalls just from my use not included other patients complaints until group becomes public. However my condition can be fatal if not managed. They don't Read or Act on Reports from other Doctors or Consultants. Had no follow up checks with them re: My condition in 3 years, Appointments given by age wait 3 weeks for urgent appointment then pensioner walks in & gets app there and then as a Regular with bunion.(Morrisons over the road) same day with. GPs lack of knowledge & not knowing who to refer to ie: Specialist, Consultant we understand the GPs have linited knowledge and cant know everything but when out of their remit pass it to the next appropriate person as in any other employment. More concerned with not having Addicts of (prescribed drugs) than trying to treat and care for people in genuine need. Waited 3 years for MRI to be arranged then they did wrong one had to wait months again, GP who had tried to help suggested another Consultant waited 18 weeks tel: app and he was for different Department & told me he was wrong consultant and wrong department. Eventually I Had put a letter into Surgery detailing this + many more errors, concerns they responded with a 'Will try better' sort of letter, Nothing changed after mess with MRI etc told a GP who not seen or spoke to in years and said I would have to put a complaint in due to lack of care. Result 3 days later get a letter I'm No longer allowed to use Surgery got 4 days left. Has been my surgery 30+ years. Left me with 4 days meds and without some can be fatal. Took weeks to find one and had to get Emergency Prescriptions from 111. So due to that practice I am still bedridden 4 years on, all got worse with a fall and sprained ankle not healed or sorted, and in agony 24/7 causing further duress and have been told it's possibly 'Causation' Google it. During pandemic and only really having phone Consultations shows this Surgery is due Major Training sessions by GPs or they are Replaced or save the money from over paid GPs shown they have not been needed, not seeing patients or having examinations as In House pharmacist can do prescriptions and Practice Nurses can do Home Visits and prescriptions. Still done wrong sometimes, Major training in (Bed side Manner) by GPs who act as if they know best, They used to .Now it appears you have to tell GP what they need to do ie: ordered tests, scans etc 9/10 times no Examinations carried out Treatment often given reluctantly, many patients only needing paracetamol they seem patients they want most. The surgery has turned into a community centre 1 of 2 Morrisons. Once covid is managed The Report and Support Group information becomes Public for other Patients to join & replace Brookroyd with a Surgery that the Residents of Heckmondwike & surrounding areas need and deserve. Further info made public shortly it has been left so long as without it only one surgery in the town but a stand has to be made and its NHS funded, but you pay towards the NHS so why are people putting up with a substandard service. Some info has already gone to CQC to investigate it's service. It's one positive point is it always looks clean. Please think before leaving a positive comment if it wasn't and don't be afraid to speak up keep any notes of your treatment or lack of to add to info already compiled.

We have been using the surgery for about 2 years now. Overall I can say things are improving. The biggest gripe people may have is making appointments which have not been very convenient. You have to call in on the day first thing to book an appointment for that day. Getting through first thing in the morning is a nightmare and you cannot book anything in advance. The online system used to give you a handful of appointment options only. However, since this morning I can see slots available throughout the day so I am guessing a recent change has been made which deserves a thumbs up from me. The staff and GPs are really helpful. The services are great and you usually get an appointment for same day once you get through the morning rush.
