Can rarely get though on the phone, when you do manage to speak to someone the staff and rude and not helpful at all. IF you do manage to get in to see the doctor or nurse at the Anlaby road site the staff are speaking loudly about patients that they think have funny problems I have personally experienced this several times, it has put me off of going I have heard them mention patients full names and their problems and reasons for coming in. It is appalling I’m leaving and can honestly say that it will not be missed at all. |

Myself and my daughter are registered at this practice. Last time I was able to access the surgery was December 2018, it’s now nearly March 2019, I have been suffering with a gynae problem for over a year since having had my daughter - I have not revived correct help and am still suffering. And there is zero follow up. It is impossible almost to get appointments to start with. You ring dead on 8:00am and you’ll be in a queue of 30+, on hold for about an hour and then told there are no appointments. I’ve had to ring 111 and access other walk in services or been referred to other services from the practice when they could not offer a service , when I take these appointments they tell me I need to see my own Gp.
Also the “ring after 2pm for results X-rays, blood results” etc is a joke you can be waiting well over an hour on the phone for that too which is totally unacceptable and makes the service inaccessible .
I was told in December after I had emergency bloods done for severe bleeding and breathlessness that someone would ring me with the results, no one did and After trying honestly for a days to get through and being too unwell to walk to the service for my results. After my appointment at the time I was sent on my way after my appointment with an inhailer prescription. And now I am being left with texts regards to booking myself in for an “asthma appointment update” which I’ll have luck trying to get an appointment for when I can’t get one for things I actually need.
I have been messed around more times than I can count and left in pain and suffering.
Recently the Newington has also had an innapropiate level of staffing e.g. no female drs available and no staff trained to do smear tests- NO woman should have to wait to be called back for a smear when you have staff available!!. I had to have my smear at a walk in centre instead who agreed to do it for me after saying it was unacceptable of my Gp to make me wait. Also there is very little staff at the service in general qualified and unqualified. Recently the receptionists are never at the desk and in the office at the back leaving you stood to check in for unnecessary amounts of time, and then you have to say what your problem is infront of the whole waiting room with no privacy guard.
Also when you do get an appointment be it for myself or my daughter, on multiple occasions I have had them cancelled as we have been on the way to the surgery and once been left a voicemail to cancel 5 minutes before my appointment when I was sat in the reception!! |

Doctors are fine, although you rarely see the same one twice. The receptionists attitudes leave a lot to be desired, and training them in customer service would be a good idea. Problems ive had include, It's impossible to make a follow up appointment with a GP, the phones are left unanswered, constant issues with repeat prescriptions. Appointments booked for wrong days, medication reduced without patient notice given, been left sat waiting to see a doctor for two hours past my appointment time, only to find out I've not been marked down as "arrived" . Blood test aptmt booked for my son by receptionist, only to be told on arrival "we don't do them here". I've had voicemails left on my phone to call them back ASAP, only to be told when I've rung back, "we don't know who rang you, or what they wanted you for". I can honestly say, I have had an issue every single time I've had dealings with the place. It's a complete joke, and when your not well, you can do without the hassle. How the place is still open, I don't know. There are always more staff than patients when I go in, yet you can never get an appointment. They have no empathy or understanding for anyone, you feel more like a nuisence when you're there than a sick patient visiting a doctor. Don't bother writing a letter of complaint either, ad they tend to "go missing". |
