In April 2022 my son had to come home as he was suffering from ongoing stress and trauma (following a very distressing and sad event in 2021) He was not sleeping and was very anxious as his university exams were imminent. I rang the university health centre on my sons behalf and received excellent service. The receptionist was polite and reassuring . I think her name was Bev. She was kind and understanding. Dr Taylor got in touch with me and supported my son with medication and advice to help him to get through this acute period of stress and insomnia. She was also very concerned about ensuring support for a medium/ longer term plan to help him to cope with compounding sources of stress. I was so relieved and reassured that the receptionist and Dr Taylor took time to listen to me without rushing me . They were both a great help during a very difficult time for my son and our family. Thank you .

GP (at Old Elvet) was extremely rude and sent me away refusing to replace my contraceptive implant even though it had expired. She said 'it would be fine for another year.' Managed to get an appointment at home to get it replaced 6 months later and they told me it doesn't necessarily keep on working and is dependant on factors like BMI. She told me to take a pregnancy test immediately and use extra contraceptive until it is replaced. Outrageous that the GP did not let me know about this grey area and allowed me to continue relying on a contraceptive that may not even work. It felt like she couldn't be bothered to deal with me and just wanted me to get out of the practice even though it wasn't even busy.

I agree with other reviews that the receptionists are rude. The practice where I am registered, University Health Centre has a cooperation with Claypath Medical Practice. When I made my appointment the employee on the telephone made a mistake and wrongly made an appointment for me at Claypath Medical Practice. So when I showed up on my appointment at the University Health Centre I was informed that I should go to Claypath Medical Practice. This meant that I would be too late to my appointment without my fault. However the receptionist acted like it was all my fault and treated me like I'm stupid that I showed up at the wrong practice. I basically said nothing in response and walked away to the appointment. I found also that then the doctor at the Claypath Medical Practice examined me only quit superficially and acted quite cold. That might be explained by the fact that at the end the doctor told me "not to let it out on the staff". So the receptionist had complained to the doctor before the doctor even saw me. I guess the receptionist had expected that I thank them for the rude behaviour or some other kind of weird logic.
