They have no duty of care for patients. Particularly those in 'high-risk' groups. They advise there are 'no appointments, and if you need to speak to someone you could try the out of hours service' despite being in the morning!!! This was when I was calling back AS INSTRUCTED by the GP following a course of antibiotics I had to fight to get in the first instance two weeks previous - I had to go via 111to get a GP callback and prescription on the same day when there was 'no appointments available'. Tip: If you are struggling for an appointment on the day, go direct to 111, walk-through the triage process and surprise, surprise an appointment can be allocated for the same day with the GP. However, be aware, they will give you a time and then the practice will call you back 4.5hrs later after the practice AND the pharmacy has closed.... failing that you may get to speak to concerned health care professional at 'go to doc' This situation has resulted in me, as a type2 diabetic, requiring an emergency general anaesthetic operation due to the risk of sepsis. This could have been a local anaesthetic had I had proper access and response. This now carries a risk for my patient status. This could have been dealt with much quicker and i believe is due to the practices complete disregard for their patients. This feedback is a documented record of my experience with this medical centre and can be used as evidence should my condition worsen. As for all other aspects of the NHS, they have been faultless and I am now getting the care I was hoping I could depend on from my community practice. Use 111 they care about patients! So proud of the NHS but it is being let down by this local 'community' practice. PMC you should be ashamed!
