Begrudge having to tell a receptionist who I know has had no medical training what is wrong with me especially as she also works in the local mini mart. She was rude beyond belief. On one appointment the waiting room had to listen to her swearing about her noisy neighbours.

I have been registered as a patient for over 30 years at the Great Harwood practise. Upon its merger with the practise at Rishton the level of service has consistantly gone downhill. It is nigh on impossible to book an appointment with the only option to ring in every morning in the hope of getting a emergency appointment with a random doctor. It is also taken as a given that you should be able to go to either practise for said appointment. Another issue is the practise has forced My Pharmacy upon all its patients as the chemist of choice. The latest news is you are no longer allowed to ring for a prescription and now have to fill in a form to get access to order online. If all these measures are deemed as improvements, you have got to wonder who the improvements are balanced towards.

I had never had a problem with this surgery but August last year was really bad, I know covid was going on, heck I work for the NHS on the front line during it and on ICU for a lot of it, my son had been very ill which I didn't know about as I was working a 12 hour shift, it was only when my husband had said something while I was still at work, the next day luckily I wasn't working, all the symptoms pointed to food poisoning or a stomach bug, when he wasn't any better the next day I phoned the doctors only to be told they would ring him back later, my son was 16 at the time. As the afternoon went on he kept getting worse, as I work at a hospital I was worried about overreacting and calling an ambulance and wasting there time, but when my son started acting confused and didn't seem to know what was going I said that's it I'm ringing an ambulance, i am so glad I did, because of covid, it had damaged his pancreas and it wasn't making much insulin, he was in diabetic ketoacidosis, while I was on with 999 the doctor then phoned, what a joke, if I hadn't rung an ambulance and got him to the hospital he would be dead now. I'm not a nurse I'm a HCA, even though I have looked after patients that have come into the hospital in diabetic ketoacidosis when I look after them it has already been resolved so I have never seen it before.
