Having moved into the area I phoned Waterfoot doctors on the 30th Jan with a view to register as a new patient. I was informed all I needed to do was to complete the form on their website and call down with a proof of address ID. I downloaded the form and completed it in advance. When I arrived I was told I had to complete another 3 forms and needed not 1 but two forms of ID, 1 picture and one with proof of address. (My drivers license only counted as 1) they make no mention of this on their website new patients page Completing the extra forms I handed the information to the receptionist who said I would need to attend a new patients medical, The earliest date they could do was the 14th Feb. (2 weeks) I asked if it was possible to see a doctor earlier as I was having shortness of breath issues. The receptionist informed me she could not book a doctors appointment until I was on their system and registered. I asked how long that takes and she said 2 weeks! I felt 2 weeks for a doctors appointment was too long and said this. To which the receptionist said she would mark my registration documents as URGENT and once the person who enters the details comes in she would phone me with an appointment, I asked how long and was told a couple days. It has now been a week (06/02/2019) and I have heard nothing reference a doctors appointment or if I have even been registered. I have since spoken to two other health centres both of whom have stated that it should only take at most two days to register. One stated you fill in the form, we add you on the computer and your registered!!! I am now about to write to this doctors and cancel my registration. I would prefer to send them an email but they choose not to use that method of contact so I will have to write them a letter. Clearly another sign of their inefficiency! One the positive I have now seen a doctor from my old health centre who has issued me a prescription for antibiotics, a inhaler and form for chest xray
