You are more likely to win the lottery than get an appointment at this surgery. You telephone at 8.30am and get a engaged tone, By the time you through all the appointments have gone. I telephoned this morning to make an appointment for a family member and my call was answered at 8.33, I was told all the appointments for the day had already been filled, call back at 10.00 to check if any appointments have been cancelled, if not we will book an appointment at the walk in centre. We don't want to go the walk in centre, We want to see our own doctor. Personally, I don't bother trying to make appointments for myself anymore, it must be several years since I last saw a doctor at Greasby. I had a very severe chest infection earlier this year and just went straight to the walk in centre. I have in the past, been sent correspondence from them requesting that I make arrangements to have to have a well man checkup ( I am over 40), but thought whats the use. They say you can go to the walk in centre for eye or ear infections and such like, what if you have a serious undiagnosed underlying medical condition that needs investigating, is that something you go to the walk in centre with?? I have spoken a number of colleagues and friends who attend other surgeries on the Wirral and they do not have this problem. It may be a case of having to move to another GP surgery.
