I cannot fault my GPs they are excellent! I very rarely go to the surgery as I believe every one should look after their own health. When I do go they are thorough and listen attentively and never put my concerns as trivial. Wish some people would not waste their time with trivial matters then those that really need to see a doctor can get an appointment. Reply from The Old Roan Surgery Wed, 21 Nov 2018 09:50:39 Z Thank you very much for this we are delighted that you are happy with the care that you have received. This is a very difficult time for General Practice and it is comforting to know that we are getting things right. However we know there is always room for improvement and our manager, Debra Saunderson, is always happy to receive constructive feedback. |

Yesterday, 16th October I visited the Oriel Drive practice to make an appointment. This was a routine appointment but requires a doctors appointment before medication can be prescribed.
Earliest .... 30th October... two weeks.
Any appointments after 3.30 because sadly I have to work.
The reply was no and for an appointment after 3.00p.m it would be a further week.
This is unacceptable Reply from The Old Roan Surgery Thu, 19 Oct 2017 11:38:14 +0100 We were sorry to hear of your difficulties Unfortunately we are currently struggling with GP shortages. Ongoing vacancies, sickness and maternity means that we are relying on a very high number of locum GP sessions and we are not always able to book in the numbers that we need. We are actively trying to recruit at the moment and would hope that we start returning to full strength early next year. We understand that there are sometimes difficulties in booking in advance but our phone lines and surgeries are open from 8.00 AM and on the day appointments are available every day. Anyone who needs to see a doctor can contact us but the doctor of choice may not be available. We do have a late surgery at Moss Lane on a Tuesday night and a Saturday morning surgery at Oriel Drive. These are in place to try to help patients who find it difficult attending the practice during the week. However these are very popular and can get booked up quickly You have said that your appointment was to see a doctor before medication could be prescribed. If this was for a review for existing medication then our in house pharmacist may have been able to assist. It is not clear from your review what it was exactly that you needed but I would suggest that you contact the surgery for more information, as clearly we need to ensure that you receive any medication that is required. You may wish to consider signing up for patient access which will allow you to book available appointments, order prescriptions and access your medical records online. Patients can also now use an e-consult facility which is a method of contacting the practice by email for non urgent issues. This is available via our website and sends an enquiry which is dealt with by the GP within 48 hours. Our Manager John Lawes 0151 295 8383 john.lawes@livgp.nhs.uk would be happy to follow up any specific problems that you might have |
