I am a new comer to Disley as I have only lived here for 5 years.I have found the surgery one of the best, as I have lived in many places around the UK.They are polite and their care is second to none, The doctors do their job to a high standard and do not leave any stone unturned until they have sorted your problem, they care and do go the extra mile All the residents are so lucky to have such a good surgery yes some times you can not get the appointment you would like , but all surgery have a lot of patients and only have so many hours in the day plus hospital to visit and home calls. This is not only my view I was very ill for many months and Disley Schoolhouse surgey helped and supported me in every aspect,

If the ridiculous waiting times (sometimes an hour!) and impossibility of making appointments weren't enough then the wild goose chase I was sent on to get a unfit for work certificate really is ridiculous! I was told by the GP "If you feel no better just ring the surgery up and we can sort you a note , no problem" Fast forward 3 days.....Rang the surgery in the morning to be told that I needed to drop my details off at the surgery and then my sick note would be ready to pick up that afternoon. Having dropped my details of at 9am in what already seemed like a pointless exercise I returned that afternoon at 5.30pm to find two difference receptionists from the ones that morning; who after I expressed the urgency of the note they assured me it would be available to pick up in the afternoon. Nevertheless I explained to the different receptionist that I had dropped my details off and returned 8 1/2 hours later to pick the note up (Surely ample time for a signature!) I was told by the receptionist that my sick note needed to be signed by the doctor who saw me and the doctor wasn't in for another 2 days! What appalling customer service....surely I could have been told that one the two previous occasions where I was assured that I would have the note that afternoon. Instead you drag somebody with Pneumonia out of the house on two occasions for absolutely nothing. I asked whether another doctor could sign the note..."No." Even though its all on a very handy information sharing computer system...but no that was too difficult.... I asked to see a doctor that night...."No" I asked for the next available appointment..."No....the next one is in 3 days time so you may as well just come back in two day." I'm not off work to run errands, I'm off ill, I'm not supposed to be travelling to the surgery everyday for absolutely nothing at all except disappointment! As a result I now feel worse from having to go out so much, how backward is that?! This surgery is a joke. Avoid unless you have countless hours to spare chasing around after thin air or waiting for an appointment.

Upon recently visiting the practice twice within the last month, on each occasion I have not been seen on time. On the first occasion I was seen over an hour late, which was very frustrating, as when I checked in & throughout my wait the reception staff didn't think to advise there would be such a long delay. On the second occasion I had the first appointment of the day (to try and avoid another backlog situation) - only to find the nurse I was waiting to see was in the surgery on time, but was sat in one of the surgery rooms, chatting with a colleague for 25 minutes! So again, I was needlessly seen late for my appointment and missed my train. I find this very annoying and find that some of the staff certainly don't put the patient first, or even have a sense of urgency when running behind schedule. Very poor time management.
