I have tried several times to ring to book an appointment At last today 4pm I finally got through with only one person ahead of me Only to be told all the routine appointments with the GP had been taken I have tried to book an appointment on the Internet through patient access but could only book a blood test which I did not require I was told by the receptionist that the appointments are released at 10am on the Internet but are usually booked up by 10.30 am I could make an appointment at the Countess of Chester, Tarporley, Ellesmere Port , Helsby or Malpas in the evening but not with my own GP I will try to book an appointment once more but I will move to another GP surgery with better customer relations as this appointment system is appauling

Thank you for taking the time to leave a comment, I am sorry that you are not satisfied with our appointment system, we are not however any different than any other practice and demand for appointments is a struggle that we all try to maintain. All of our routine appointments are released at 10 am both online and via the telephone, we do have the ability, as do all practices, to book appointments with a GP in extended hours and this is the service that the receptionist offered you in the places that you mentioned. Not all problems require a GP appointment and the practice has invested in a number of alternatives such as Advanced Nurse Practitioners, who can offer appointments for minor illnesses or chronic disease management, we also offer appointments with a Clinical Pharmacist four mornings per week, they are able to offer medication advice and reviews, there is also the opportunity to book an appointment with the Physiotherapist they are able to review any joint pain and can refer into secondary care if needed. As a Primary Care Network, we work with Lache, Handbridge and Western Avenue practices we are looking at investing in Mental Health Services so that patients with immediate needs can be signposted to them. All of these alternative routes to healthcare will work towards more appointments being available for patients that need to see a GP.

The practice is busy, but it has never let us know. I have never had to access the practice in an emergency, but for day to day issues, I find all the staff to be helpful and friendly. I particularly like the ability to contact the practice online and I hope that more services are added to the online facilities. I think that the doctors, nurses, receptionists and admin staff do a very good job in difficult circumstances.
