I should have written this review a while back, but happened across the site/opportunity this morning. Hopefully, as the latest comments are dated 2019 (the time I should have posted the review) and it is now 2021, these postings are still reviewed by Rebecca Egan. Ok, been with the surgery since we moved to Nuneaton in 1987, attending on St Nicolas Park, originally, for myself, wife and two sons. In that time, personally, I can only say the original GP team, who we occasionally see in the area and are on friendly terms with and now their sons, who have taken over the practice, have always addressed my health issues with care and consideration. I mainly wish to thank Doctor Sam Johnson for her picking up, specifically, symptoms which, after a recommended journey of testing, indicated I had indeed got Prostate Cancer, this was caught just in time before it had left the gland and if it had I might not be writing this review! Thankyou Sam! Doctor Yogesh Thankey has been first class in his support and diagnoses which provided the bedrock of data that Sam was able to utilise in making her decision ref the cancer tests. Also throughout my time engaging with the surgery, I believe that Dr Thankey and I have built up a very good rapport and friendship I would deign to suggest. I am grateful for his skills and support over the years and also for organising many tests to ensure a potential serious illness was not the root cause of various symptoms. Eventually it came to pass, ref the Prostate, but good teamwork in the practice means I live to fight another day! I like to think that I don't draw on the surgery too often because I understand just how busy the practice is, but when needed I get professional, supportive and friendly care. The issue that other people raise about the pinch-point of calling circa 8am for appointments I completely understand, from both sides. It can be frustrating, but equally there are finite resources for the obvious demand on the practice, consequently I do try to be empathetic to the need of all others calling through and, as said, don't call unless I really need to. I would thoroughly recommend the practice to anyone. Finally Dr Kacchia has also been equally supportive and thorough in addressing health issues for myself and I would like to extend thanks to him too. The reception team are professional and whilst some have moved on I would like to thank Diane and now Romy for their efficient client engagement and advice. Keep up the good work all, I'll probably need it as age grips! ; )

I don’t need to see my GP too often but when I do it’s always nice to know that I can get a callback the same day from the GP. After the call I was in her office within 40 mins... this is possibly the best managed doctors surgery in the U.K.!

I have been attending this surgery many years since the previous doctors were at the surgery! The new doctors took over the practice a number of years ago and started to have appointments with one particular doctor regularly when needed. To the point where by both myself and this doctor had built up somewhat of a good relationship. Along with the many changes made within the NHS system (most of which I consider to the detriment of the patient) and within the practice I consider that the care I now receive along with the relationship with this doctor has severely suffered. Generally, when ill you have to call at 8am to get an appointment that day which causes stress as often it is engaged for many minutes and when you finally get through it is regular for all appointments to be booked and get offered a telephone appointment instead for the doctor to decide if they want you to have an appointment or not. When you do get an appointment it is not discussed who you would like to see, your not told who the appointment is booked with and over the last year have seen 5 different doctors for myself and my son which is not good for your long term health care. I was a smoker for many years so all my problems used to be blamed on that, so I gave up just over 2 years ago and as they can no longer blame smoking as the cause it has just moved onto my lifestyle the cause! In appointments I feel rushed and pressured into just talking about a single main symptom when there is often many, I feel I am not listened to or believed when trying to express how I feel in my own body. Which is something I really struggle with verbally expressing a pain or feeling and the whole make up exacerbates this situation! When tests have shown something wrong I feel it is not taken seriously like it is some fad or something and references are made to other peoples similar issues which is of no importance in my health care at all! My last appointment I walked out of as it was a new doctor never saw anywhere in the practice before yet again, I felt they did not listen or understand me and even their face kept having a smirk on it! Anyway I was complaining of a long standing pain that has worsened over the last few months, was given the standard physical examination then the doctor wanted to only discuss pain relief options without obviously knowing my medical background! Their attitude was unprofessional and obnoxious.
