I am utterly appalled by the complete lack of any form of personable service at this practice. In 2 years, I have never been able to see a doctor, the practice nurse told me to lose weight or she would take me off HRT, and since I had an early menopause and still have 14 years of work to fulfil in an acute hospital environment, I did not welcome this comment, particularly from a nurse of more ample proportions than me. I work crushing shifts with disruption to my life and diet, in a place where there are not enough nurses for the patients admitted land I have no time to eat, drink or pre to any sort of timetable. And the receptionist expects me to get my colleagues to monitor my blood pressure when it’s all we can do to monitor that of our patients! What the hell happened to a surgery you could visit, GPs you could see and practice nurses that could do your blood pressure for you, once every six months? I mean, is this an unrealistic expectation nowadays???? I do not understand why I have to endure an 8 option telephone message when I phone and cannot speak to anyone before 10 am, when most people are already at work. In my case, I leave home at 06.15, I get home at around 21.00 and I cannot get a shred of cooperation in consideration of the difficulty I already have due to work commitments, without having to fight my way through barriers, obstacles, gatekeepers… it’s like hunting the holy grail. I’m utterly disgusted with this non existent service. I’m not even convinced that there are any Drs behind the facade of the reception desk. They are probably working from home in their PJs. I feel for the elderly that may have no ability to do anything online. I think they are hoping we’ll all die quietly without ever bothering them again.

I called to get appointment waited 40 mins in a que to be told by reception to call back in the morning before 10am to get a call back to see if I need a doctor?? So unless your ill before a certain time I can’t get a call back?? I was asked if it was urgent I’m not a doctor so how would I know. I know we’re all in the same boat but how long can this go on for? Let’s hope tomorrow I’m not waiting over 40 mins and get to speak to a doctor as long as I get through before 10! I’ve been with this surgery since 1975 and never been treated so bad
