My daughter rang today as she's really ill but as she's got poor signal the Dr wasn't able to get through. My daughter rang the surgery to be told she'd missed her slot and couldn't ring back this afternoon as there was no appointments left . But I have always been told that if you couldn't get a morning appointment ring at 1.30 but yet my daughter has been told not to ring back. I think it's disgusting as she's really ill and could do with speaking to a Dr. She doesn't normally bother the drs and yet when she needs it she can't get to speak to one

It’s not the doctors…. The doctors at this practice are great!! If you can get through to one…. It’s the receptionist! Rude, unhelpful, antagonistic, no information or helpfulness about her whatsoever! No wonder the practice is experiencing significant increase in hostility from its patients!!!!

I phoned the surgery first thing Monday am to request a repeat prescription but was informed that as i am a new patient I would require a telephone consultation with the GP. So I requested for a telephone consultation appointment but I was then told that I had to phone the surgery at either 8am or 1.30pm as this is when the appointments are released. I then asked if there was any possibility of organising an appointment while on the phone as I work full time from Mon - Fri 8am - 4pm, often later and often without a break. (I was home Monday awaiting Covid result). I am not allowed a mobile and have no access to a private phone. I did not request that I have a phone call that day and I told the receptionist when I would need my next prescription for, but, absolutely no understanding was offered. I understand that covid has complicated things, but working on the front line of healthcare myself, I and my team have gone above and beyond to give patients the care and the service that actually they need and in a timely manner. Covid has driven us to work more effectively and has not been used as an excuse to hide behind. The lack of consideration shown to me by Shawbury Medical Practice is quite worrying as they have been rated as good by the CQC. I have never had such poor service or lack of understanding from a GP surgery. I really am not a demanding person prone to making such complaints but feel this is justified.
