The doctor was pleasant, efficient and professional. As I have been experiencing breathing difficulties he carried a physical examination and arranged for a chest x ray. I could not ask for more.

I moved to Falmouth in December and signed up to the surgery nearly straight away. I had an appointment yesterday (May 28th) and left feeling angry. I told my doctor what is bothering me and their response was so rude! They didn't have any of my medical history form my previous doctor even though I signed up nearly 5 months ago, meaning I had to tell them my whole medical history for the past 6 years. They almost sounded annoyed that I assumed they'd have a brief history of my past treatments and prescriptions. While trying to explain to them where the pain was they didn't even look at me and then 'Googled' something, printed it out and told me to read it in my spare time. They didn't even explain what it was that they'd printed out or what I should do next. (When I got home and read the symptoms of what they'd printed out it was completely irrelevant to me!) They ended the appointment telling me that ' many people have to live with mild pain and just get on with it!' If they'd have been listening they'd have understood that it's often unbearable pain and is effecting my job. I feel hurt and frustrated that I was dismissed so quickly. I feel that because I'm young I haven't been taken seriously and i imagine an official complaint wouldn't get very far either. I understand doctors are very busy and in high demand but this is their job. The receptionist was polite on the phone and I didn't have to wait too long for my appointment.

Dear Patient I am sorry that you left the surgery unsatisfied and upset. Please be assured that we try to treat all patients the same and your age should not make any difference to the care you receive or to any complaint that you might make. I apologise that we have fallen below the standards that we set ourselves on this occasion. To allow us to investigate this instance, I ask that you contact the practice and ask to speak to the Practice Manager. I will also be happy to arrange a consultation with a different doctor if you wish. Many thanks Practice Manager
