My first visit to Wheal Northey, this morning at nine am. From receptionist to consulting with Dr Anthony Hereward and follow up visit to nurse Catherine Poulsom and speedy delivery of paperwork by a second receptionist, removing the need of a return visit, the efficiency of the practice was clearly evident. While waiting to see the nurse I chatted to a long standing patient of this practice and nothing but praise was forthcoming. I left with a spring in my step and a song in my hart. Thank you all for a magnificent job well done under the tremendous pressure Best wishes to all Paul Dorman

In view of a spate of medical conditions over the past two years have to liaise with all departments of the practice from GP/Duty GP through to consultant referrals, blood tests, prescription management and telephone and on site reception. In all cases I have been met with courtesy, professionalism and expertise. The very brave amalgamation of all St Austell surgeries into one large practice (in 2014?) seems (after a few inevitable teething troubles) to have settled down and we now have a service all can be proud of. There will always be the occasional difficulty/mishap with a patient list of 30,000 plus, but from my own personal viewpoint I cannot praise the organisation enough. Keep up the good work and thank you very much for all your efforts.

No follow up when it has been discussed that a doctor will call you Have been suffering for months after being discharged from hospital with no follow up care, it’s now got to the stage where I’ve been forced to put a complaint in as my health is deteriorating rapidly to be told in an automated email that it could be 3 months before I get a reply. I’m at the end of my rope, constantly in pain, on anti depressants and feeling suicidal - with a history of self harm, yet today when I called in desperation I received a text message to say my case isn’t enough of an emergency and that I should call back after the 17th April it’s the 3rd April today! The words health care should be removed from the business name- we aren’t patients we are simply cattle.
