All the doctors were lovely & treated me with care & respect. The reception staff were friendly & helpful when I wasn't sure of processes. They also took care to review my past notes & check on previous illnesses etc. before letting me go to ensure I was all ok. Overall really happy with the surgery and staff

It is understandable that reception staff are under pressure due to high demands of callers. I am usually very happy speaking to reception staff but today I was really upset with one of them when making a general query about a request of prescription over the phone which i thought wasnt necessary to book a gp appointment and save space for booking. She was so defensive which made me feel unaccommodated as a client. I hope this doesn’t happen again as I think reception staff are first in line into making a good impression of the surgery.

We are sorry to hear that you have been disappointed by your recent telephone experience with the surgery. We have shared your comments with the Reception Team as we constantly review our processes and strive to improve our patient access and services. The general policy that we and many other GP surgeries follow is not to take repeat prescription requests over the telephone due to the high rate of possible errors which could be potentially life threatening. As part of our patient care, the GP's also wish to see their patients on a regular basis to detect any changes to their health and ensure the treatment/medication is appropriate. We recommend the use of the NHS patient online website for making appointments and requesting repeat prescriptions which can be accessed 24 hours a day, 7 days a week (www.patientaccess.com). Alternatively, the repeat prescription slip can be dropped into either surgery or the pharmacy during opening hours, or in the secure mailbox outside of those hours.
