One doctor there is amazing and I would recommend them to anyone. However it's two doctors that aren't. One, I am unfortunately given most of the time to see and on all occasions they habe been rude, such as when I made a choice for myself and gave valid reasons, they proceeded to have a go at me and then afters asked invasive questions about me which was not at all related to my appointment. Another doctor has also wasted appointment time by asking invasive questions. There's also a receptionist who allowed a random patient to stand right behind me, invading my privacy without telling them to move or give me space, and then got annoyed at me for checking if an appointment would work for me. Overall, I usually leave there feeling beaten down and not wanting to go back, despite having to down to my health.

I have recently written a review regarding Albany House Medical Centre, Wellingborough, because I had been told that they no longer did a travel clinic and I was given a leaflet for MASTA. I mentioned that other practices do NHS vaccines, but the reply was ‘I don’t know about that’. I had spent time researching and visiting private travel clinics to see if they provided NHS travel vaccinations - they did not. I was really not sure where to go next and was feeling really let down by my surgery. After further research and advice I went back to the practice and asked for more clarity...turns out they DO have a travel service once a month, but appointment availability is low, so best to see them very, very early...earlier than the 6 week recommendation, just in case the appointments get filled. I think more use should be made of their website to enable patients to organise what they need to do in time. Thank you to the staff who did manage to book me an appointment - because at this point I was exasperated. I just have to hope there’s time to be fully vaccinated by the time I travel.
