I have lived in Stokenchurch for many years and Stokenchurch medical center has been a consistent problem when it comes to patient care. I am never able to get an appointment when I need one, staff are extremely unprofessional, unhelpful and rude. I have called in for a number of issues with a time sensitive problem, each and every they are rude and very pushy for me to pay for treatments privately and very dismissive of how I am feeling. I dread having to call the surgery for any issues, I feel panic stricken and extremely stressed when I speak to them as nothing ever changes, they are rude to me on the phone and never available when I need an appointment. I am not someone who attends the doctors for a cold, flu or anything that can be treated at home so when I do call the doctors I genuinely need help. |

I needed to see a GP quickly so attended the emergency clinic that day. I was seen and referred to a specialist very quickly, where I was reassured that there was nothing seriously wrong. A potentially stressful issue was dealt with professionally, quickly, and sympathetically. The NHS comes in for a lot of criticism, some justified, but I couldn't have wished for better care from Stokenchurch Medical Centre, and Wycombe Hospital, so credit where it is due! |

I called first thing on Monday morning to get an emergency appointment for my severe conjunctivitis - my eyes were very painful and stuck together. I was told by the male receptionist that they were a doctor down and I would NOT get an appointment that day which was not very helpful. He suggested I went to the walk in centre at Wycombe Hospital if it got any worse, It did and I spent over 2 hours there and was eventually seen for 5 mins - I had an eye infection as well and was given eye drops and antibiotics neither of which have made much difference. I called the doctors surgery again today (Wednesday) as soon as the phone lines opened and was already number 12 in the queue. I finally got through to the male receptionist again and after being quite persistent I was offered an appointment at 11am. I rarely go to the doctor but it shouldn't be this hard to get an emergency appointment. If I had been given the correct medication to start with I wouldn't need to go there today and I would be feeling a lot better than I am currently. |
