I would not recommend this surgery. My partner and I have had similar poor experiences not with reception staff but with the doctors themselves. Poor English, understanding or genuine interest or knowledge! They have the ability to diagnose without looking, asking any questions or touching. We will be transferring ASAP!

We are very surprised to receive a review such as this and being anonymous is not at all helpful as we would very much appreciate the ability to respond in person to accusations such as this. All of our GP's have a good understanding of English and are able to communicate perfectly well. They are sufficiently trained and experienced enough that sometimes an examination of the patient is not always necessary. Manager Chancellor House Surgery

I have seen a dramatic change in this surgery over the years, you call at 8am trying to get through which can take an age to be told they have no appointments available, if its an emergency you are then put on a waiting list for a call back, with no idea of time when that will be. I registered to book appointments online to find its the same issue no appointments. My whole family are now registering with another surgery

Thank you for your review of our practice - we appreciate all feedback. Unfortunately I am not sure if you have been properly made aware of how we offer appointments currently. Due to the huge increase in demand (new houses being built everywhere locally with no new medical facilities in the area) we have moved to a triage first service, whereby our Reception team take details of the patients who request GP contact and the Doctor will call patients back - how long this takes depends on the urgency of the situation as GP's will look at the reasons given and will call back the patients with the most urgent need first. Anyone needing a face to face appointment with a Doctor will be offered an appointment the same day. We also offer pre-bookable appointments 4-6 weeks ahead which can be booked via the GP app or online via Patient Access. Some of our pre-bookable appointments are early morning from 7.30am on a Monday and late evening until 8pm on a Monday at Chancellor House or Tuesday at Tilehurst Village. We also offer Saturday surgeries twice a month - alternating between the 2 surgery sites. We are very sorry that you haven't found our new system workable for yourselves such that you are moving surgeries. Manager Tilehurst Village & Chancellor House Surgery
