I've been registered here for a few years and not been a regular user. Getting an appointment is a nightmare, I presume it's the same everywhere though and I can't blame an overworked practice. The actual treatment I've received by the doctors and nurses here has been excellent. I really appreciate the professionalism and compassion shown. I'm no expert and have very little to compare it to but I'm certainly very happy with it. The service by administrative staff is bad. I was left standing at reception for a few minutes whilst the receptionist is in the office loudly whinging about rude patients who won't get anywhere of they're rude to them. I've twice called up and had a fairly rude person who didn't pass the message on to the doctor. I've found that going in person is the only way to get anything done. Why do we put up with rude receptionists and poor administrative staff? It seems to be the same everywhere and this always seems to be the weak link in any medical service offered by the NHS.
