I booked an appointment for my daughter as she is on a weight based medication and needed it because we were going away. I thought as it was something she had had before it might be easier to phone ahead and give the weight (as she had never been weighed in this surgery) to cut a long story short I was told to just come in for the original appointment. The day of the appointment I was asked to attend the surgery 30 minutes before my actual appointment, no explanation given but I obliged. Only to be kept waiting till well after my original appointment time (surgery running over 30 minutes late) on a hot day with a baby who is 9 months old, again no explanation given or apology. By the time we we are seen an given a prescription almost an hour had elapsed. As the item prescribed usually needs to be ordered by pharmacy I had missed the cut off time for the pharmacy to order the medication. Now all I have expired medication, a distressed baby and a lot of my time wasted.

As a rule, i like the surgery very much. Everyone is really lovely, and they try their best in all aspects. There is one thing to consider though. If you have a sign up on the front door that says you are open until 1pm on a Saturday, then why was the door locked at 12.40 with no chance of access? On the one rare occasion when i needed urgent advice, the surgery decided to close before the time advertised. It was most upsetting. If you do not want to stay open until 1pm, then don't advertise that you are. | |||||||
