I have been a patient of The Balham Park Surgery for over 8 years and sadly I have to leave them as I am moving to a new home out of the area. They have constantly given myself and my husband a great service, especially the nursing staff. I have always been treated with respect, seen by a doctor on time and felt valued and listened to. They have never been late with prescriptions and the reception staff have always been helpful, even at really busy times. I will miss this surgery and the excellent care I have received here.

I am not registered at this Surgery but my mother was served by the receptionist this week. I have been having health problems and have been coming in frequently for cancellations, as appointments are quite booked up in advance. He asked me whether the issue was urgent, which I explained that it is and he apologised for the lack of routine appointment but booked me in for a doctor to call me regarding my problem on the same day, a service that I did not know the GP surgery offered. I was seen the same day by a Doctor and I am on the road to recovery! I wish I had thought to explain the urgency of my situation earlier so I would not have had to wait so long! Thank you!

Thank you very much for your lovely feedback about your service from our Care Navigator at reception. Staff work very hard, under difficult circumstances and it is truly heartening to receive your positive comments. The team are very grateful to you for taking the time to write. Anyone who feels that their health problem cannot wait until the next routine appointment will be put on a list for call back by a doctor here to assess the best pathway of care, if needed the patient will be brought in to be seen. I am sorry that you were not aware that you may have got an appointment on the same day or sooner. This is something that we primary care are required to provide as a service and we should not assume that everyone knows this. I will review whether we can add to our practice booklet and website to make this clearer for our patients. We have a patient group who meet on 2nd Wednesday of every month in our Education Room at 7pm. They are keen to welcome all patients who have shared experiences of our services. It is a forum for keeping up to date with the many changes within the NHS and learning more about how we work. There is the opportunity for patients to influence what we do which we very much value. Thank you again for submitting your thoughts. Natalie Whyte Managing Partner; n.whyte1@nhs.net

The staff at this practice are absolutely wonderful and did everything they could to help when I was unwell recently. I popped into the practice at 8am, and by 9:45am I had received a phone call from a GP to triage me and give me an action plan for treatment. I was treated with the utmost kindness and respect at every stage of the process. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend this practice.

Thank you so very much for you lovely comments. I have alerted the entire team as your feedback was uplifting to read and means a lot to us. We have a patient group BPSPLG who we involve in discussions and decision making about matters relating to practice that impact on services. We provide monthly updates on the on-going changes that affect the way we work in the NHS. They meet on the second Wednesday of every month here in our Education Room at 7pm, and ask that I mention them to all patients who give us feedback. We try to learn from all experiences and to maintain the things that our patients say they value the most. We are grateful that you took the time to reflect and share your thoughts. Warm wishes.
