I had lost all hope in finding a surgery that could understand and assist me with my complex condition. I was going round in circles without anyone there to support me. My first contact was with a Dr on the telephone who understood my needs and gave me some very good advice. Next I went in to see second Dr who has been exceptional and whom I can't thank enough for what he has done and is doing for me. My mental health has improved and I now have an appointment scheduled for the end of this month at a specialist unit at a well known London hospital where I will finally get the help needed to make my life and the life of my family so much better. The second Dr went the extra mile for me and there is nothing I could do to thank him enough. The reception staff that I have spoken to on various occasions have been extremely helpful and take the time to listen which is very refreshing. The cleanliness is second to none and the setting is also very pleasant to the eye. If you are looking for a great surgery to join, then this is the one.

Throughout the years, I have been registered with many doctors surgeries within various different trusts. I have also dealt with various consultants, clinicians, nurses, receptionists, secretaries and all in between. Not one comes close to the care and compassion that is given at Smallfield Surgery at every turn. I have always felt listened to, never badgered by receptionists if I haven't wanted to discuss my ailments, never condescended or spoken down to and ALWAYS respected. My most recent experience with the surgery was after my son had ended up in hospital after a severe allergic reaction. They'd received no information from the hospital, they were extremely busy after a bank holiday weekend, and still a member of staff spoke to me with empathy and understanding, advising what I could do. When my own attempts failed, she spent her time ensuring that I could see a GP and the discharge summary was received. So often, we overlook the shining lights that make the NHS a fantastic organisation. I will never stop singing the praises of the surgery and their staff. It is clear that ongoing training is an integral part of the ethos. I hope I never have to move out of area again, as the standard is now very high. Thank you to all within the surgery.

Smallfield surgery is a doctors surgery beyond expectation. The reception staff are faultless, always strive to help you as best as possible. They treat each person with dignity and respect and are all very understanding of each persons requirements. I have had numerous issues with requiring my prescriptions sooner than they actually should be ready. I am cabin crew and travel a lot obviously, sometimes I am sent away last minute and don’t have enough tablets for my trip and the surgery are very understanding and issue items sooner than normal. I have also been silly and left my tablets in hotels and advised them and they again understand and sort it for me ASAP. Today I had an issue where we had a phone call from family in Devon to say my husbands mother had fallen and we literally got in the car with basic items for an overnight stay not knowing how long we were going to be away. 2 hours into the drive I suddenly remembered I didn’t have my daily medications with me. I called smallfield surgery and explained this to a particular lady. She was very understanding and supportive and instantly messaged a GP explaining this. Together we found the details for a pharmacy local to where we would be staying in Devon and she organised a prescription of my items to be sent electronically to them. She called me back about an hour later to advise me that it had been done already but not only did she say this, she wanted to make sure they received it so asked me if I could call them and ask if it was there and to call her back and let her know what they said. I called the pharmacy in Devon to ask them if they received it and they said yes it was there and they would have it ready when we arrived in Devon. I called this lady back to advise her that it had been received and will be ready for my arrival. In my eyes, today, she had gone above and beyond to ensure that I would not go however long without my daily medications and between her and the doctor my prescription is there and will be ready. This is what you call fantastic service by not only the lady on the phone but also the doctor and I can never thank them enough for this. I have never had a negative experience with smallfield surgery what so ever and whenever I need to speak to them or attend the surgery they are always amazing. I quite literally have never known such an amazing Dr’s surgery, I hear many people complain about their surgeries, never get an appointment or the staff are never helpful or rude, smallfield surgery is quite literally the polar opposite of anything like this. I can’t thank them enough for everything they do, they quite literally are the best!! Big thanks once again to the lady on the phone and to the doctor for your understanding and quick actions. Thank you so much from the bottom of my heart to both the lady and Dr and to everyone else who works there, you really are all ambassadors for your role and should be a surgery of excellence and give training to other surgery’s to be as good as you are.
