I phoned recently today to register with the surgery and was told to bring proof of Identification and address by the person I spoke to on the phone I travel all the way to the surgery while in a lot of pain with my foot and was told differently at reception and told I also need a bank statement. They did not mention this on the phone so I was turned away while in a lot of pain and wanted to see a doctor if possible. Such a wasted journey. They must think I have all the time in the world. Well they certainly do as the receptionists were just busy chatting with one another and not doing any work. Seriously they should be ashamed of this. I should have made more of a fuss there I feel and should have kicked off. That seem's the only way to resolve things I was too polite I feel and that's my mistake. I wish I can take this further and someone needs to be fired over this

We are sorry to learn that this patient was unhappy with his or her recent visit here. We would welcome the opportunity of investigating this incident fully and would encourage the patient to contact Practice Manager Catherine Makepeace and advise the date and time of the attendance. We are having some difficulty understanding the comments which have been made; there are two Practices here and we alternate accepting new patients who wish to register. It sounds as though this patient came last week - a week in which we were not registering new patients, so we advised any potential new patients to register with the other Practice. We would not ask for any documentation, and would not in any event insist on a bank statement. We would also encourage this patient, should any further incident occur in future, to raise his or her concerns at the time so that the problem can be addressed immediately. If he or she has not yet registered with a Practice and is still having pain in his or her foot he or she may wish to attend one of the local Walk-in Centres for an assessment. They are based in Ashford (TW15 3FE) and Woking (GU22 7HS). I hope this patient will contact us again so that we can investigate the concerns and hopefully resolve the problem.
